Valerie Smithey
Senior Compliance Consultant
Valerie Smithey is originally from Woodstock, Illinois. She and her husband, Wes, live in Oconee County with their English Lab, Smit. Valerie brings nearly 25 years of experience in compliance and risk management within the financial services industry and currently serves as a Senior Compliance Consultant with Bristal Lane Group.
Throughout her career, Valerie has developed extensive experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, and financial services operations. She is known for her proactive, solutions-oriented approach and her ability to navigate complex regulatory requirements while supporting practical business objectives.
Valerie earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Columbia College and a Master of Business Administration from Piedmont University. She holds FINRA Series 4, 7, 9, 10, 24, 26, 53, 63, and 65 licenses, as well as Georgia Life, Health, Variable Annuities, Property, and Casualty Insurance licenses. She also holds the CRCP™, CAMS®, and CFE® professional designations.
Outside of work, Valerie enjoys spending time with family, playing golf, watching sports, and being outdoors.
